It responds to the strategy and positioning of the manufacturer, oriented towards connectivity ( ePrint, AirPrint ), and displays in clear on its chassis the sign “smartphone and tablet printer”. HP Deskjet 2547 promises laser printer quality, quick installation, ease of use, and silence. In terms of ergonomics, the entry-level model requires, note the absence of double-sided and touch screen. The small, compact (42 x 51 x 25 cm) and light (3 kg) machine does not include a paper tray either. The feeding is done from the top and foresees a capacity – low – of 60 sheets. Extremely basic, the small screen that only displays 2 digits is just as basic as the control panel – which looks like a remote control. The scanner makes a fan noise while scanning. Nevertheless, it is simple to use and provides for a series of adjustments depending on the documents scanned. The HP Deskjet 2547’s user can choose to adjust the resolution, the format, etc. depending on the type of document selected. Allow 28 seconds to scan an A4 document and 19 seconds for a 10 x 15 cm. Practical, the brightness and contrast adjustments can be made directly on the preview of the scanned document. Rotation and cropping are also possible before recording. The ePrint application does not allow sending a scanned document directly to a smartphone. On the other hand, the Scan to mail function makes it possible to receive scanned documents by email and therefore on a smartphone or tablet. Using the wireless printer with a router is a snap. The “step by step” offered by the machine – via the printing of an instruction sheet – explains, step by step, the procedure to be followed. All you have to do is connect your smartphone or tablet to the printer’s Wi-Fi network, enter the HP wireless direct printing password, and voila, you’re ready to go. The HP Deskjet 2547 printer is directly connected to the photos stored in the device, to email accounts, and to the cloud (Box, Dropbox, Evernote, and Google Drive). To allow access to the data, all you have to do is configure the logins and passwords of the accounts. A “print” button, present on all pages of the interface, directly launches print jobs from the smartphone or tablet.
