With the HP DeskJet 2842e, the manufacturer is expanding its multifunctional printer selection for beginners. The multifunction printer is compact and intended for users who do not have a fax function. This device does not have a menu screen, just a mini monochrome display showing only a few basic functions such as the number of copies or the WLAN connection. The rear paper feed of the printer is designed for a maximum of 60 sheets of paper – that’s a narrow supply. Printing on the front and back (duplex) can only be done manually using the driver instructions. The printing unit works extremely slowly but with usable quality for text and graphics. The ink cartridges do not have a huge capacity, which makes the device uninteresting for frequent printers. Changing cartridges is a bit fiddly due to the rickety housing. Print jobs are also possible from your smartphone. PCs and notebooks can be connected to the HP DeskJet 2842e using a USB cable. If you follow the enclosed installation instructions, you will inevitably end up with the HP Smart app, which is available for Windows 10 as well as Android and iOS. It is intended exclusively for operation in a wireless network.
