The HP DeskJet 2942 is a compact all-in-one inkjet printer designed for everyday home printing, copying, and scanning. For paper handling, the printer has a 60-sheet input tray and a 25-sheet output tray, and it supports A4, B5, A6, and DL envelopes. Manual duplex printing is available via driver support, and the printer supports plain paper, photo paper, brochure paper, envelopes, and other specialty inkjet media. It is also HP Instant Ink eligible, helping users manage replacement ink more conveniently. It delivers print speeds of up to 7.5 ppm in black and 5.5 ppm in color, with the first black page out in as fast as 16 seconds. Using HP Thermal Inkjet technology, it produces black print quality of up to 1200 x 1200 rendered dpi and color quality of up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi when printing from a computer on selected HP photo papers. The integrated flatbed scanner provides optical resolution of up to 1200 dpi and supports JPEG, TIFF, PDF, and PNG formats. Its copier can produce up to 9 copies at resolutions of up to 300 x 300 dpi for both black text and color graphics. With a recommended monthly volume of 50 to 100 pages, this series is best suited for light-duty home printing and basic document scanning and copying.
The HP DeskJet 2942 features a simple icon LCD, a 1.0 GHz processor, and a two-cartridge system with one black and one tri-color cartridge. It supports dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, along with Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity. Mobile printing is supported through the HP app, Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, and HP Print Service Plugin for Android, providing convenient wireless printing from compatible devices.
