HP is innovating in the market for small transportable and autonomous A4 printers, by offering an HP OfficeJet 250 which retains measurements guaranteeing it the qualifier of “nomad”, without forgetting to add a scanner functionality. the small portable inkjet from HP offers the whole arsenal of 3-in-1 multifunction devices, while also acting as a scanner and copier. Unsurprisingly, it is therefore the “biggest” and heaviest of this trio (38 x 19.8 x 9.1 cm for 2.96 kg). In terms of ergonomics, it sets a new standard for this type of printer, thanks to the integration of a small color touch screen that is rather responsive and pleasant to handle. Mounted on a spring-loaded hinge, this screen unfolds when the cover is lifted. The latter is transformed into a paper feeder and can hold about fifty pages (80 g / m²), which seems sufficient for the targeted use. A second shutter can open. This brings up a document feeder to feed the scanner. It is possible to position up to 10 pages, but the operation is not very practical. While there is a tab to hold the paper in place, it often happens that you need to help the motorized roller catch the sheet. The HP OfficeJet 250’s scroll scanner works up to 600 dpi at 24 bits in A4 format. Despite the inconvenient document feed, it fulfils its role quite well and is fast. It scans an A4 color page at 100 dpi in 17 seconds and a 10 x 15 cm photo at 300 dpi in 17 seconds. Given the printer’s format constraints, these are very good figures and it is clear that HP has taken care to integrate a scanner that holds up, just to insist on what is one of the main how this product stands out from its competitors. The HP OfficeJet 250 printer is connected by USB (2.0 Type-B) or by Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi Direct supported). It is compatible with major cloud printing services and with printing from a smartphone or tablet. On the other hand, it does not offer an Ethernet port or a memory card reader, but has a USB Host port and is therefore capable of printing directly from a USB key, for example. At the back, A battery that charges to 90% in 90 minutes, and which can print more than a hundred pages in mixed-use (black and white, color and photo). A charge indicator indicates the autonomy; information in any case taken up by the control screen.
