Hewlett-Packard has been using inkjet devices for office use for a long time. However, the printers were designed for the SoHo environment. With HP OfficeJet Enterprise Color MFP X585f, the manufacturer has now introduced two device families that are also competing for use in medium-sized and large companies with their own and therefore corresponding laser printers. The printer and the multifunction device are equipped with a print head that covers the entire width of the page. This eliminates the time-consuming and mechanically complex movement of the print head. HP is realizing a print speed of up to 70 pages per minute with the Officejet newcomers. HP specifies up to 75,000 sheets as the maximum monthly print volume. However, the manufacturer’s recommendation is 2,000 to 6,000 sheets. The ranges are also suitable for business: With the black cartridge D8J10A, the printers should travel up to 10,000 pages. HP specifies a range of 6,000 pages for the respective color cartridges. When delivered, the ranges are reduced to almost 8,000 black and white and 3,400 pages of color. The paper feeders hold 500 sheets and can be upgraded with an additional paper cassette with a further 500 sheets. All devices in the two new Officejet series also print in duplex as standard. The HP OfficeJet Enterprise Color MFP X585f is equipped with the same enterprise functionality, including the user interface, that Hewlett-Packard Laserjet printers offer. They also support the latest HP LaserJet FutureSmart firmware and the Open Extensibility Platform (OXP). With the HP Officejet Enterprise series, users can easily access corporate software and solutions such as HP Access Control or HP Capture & Route at the touch of a button. In addition, the administration of larger printer fleets with mixed equipment is made easier. The devices can also be managed using the HP printer management platform HP Web Jetadmin. Extended security solutions protect confidential company data, Monitor and control your printers centrally via HP Web Jetadmin, HP OfficeJet Enterprise Color MFP X585f provides new functions via expandable firmware and add further solutions to the functions of this MFP. Optional wireless direct printing and NFC touch-to-print technology – without access to the network.
