The HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 is a multifunction device that can be used for scanning, faxing, copying and printing. The model uses inkjet technology. The rather low acquisition costs and the usually very good quality of photo printing are positive, while printing costs, lifespan and printing speed are worse compared to laser printers. Devices of this type are therefore particularly suitable for private use. The printer is a laser printer with a 3in1 function. The device’s power consumption of 37 watts is slightly higher than the average. You can’t just move the printer from one place to another because it’s one of the heavier devices. The device is available in white. In addition to the usual duplex printing, the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 provides some other useful functions, such as photo printing, text printing, and borderless printing. The printer even prints in A3 format and achieves a resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, which guarantees the printing of text and graphics with sufficient sharpness. Up to 22 black and white prints are made every minute. That is a good speed. The printer can process up to 18 color pages in one minute. The paper feed capacity is 250 sheets. The flatbed and ADF scanner of the printer has functions such as scan-to-email, scan-to-PC, and scan-to-USB and an optical resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. Multi-page documents can be processed unattended because the automatic document feeder (ADF) can feed up to 35 sheets. When copying, a resolution of at most 600 x 600 dpi is achieved, which is an average value. The interfaces such as Ethernet 10/100 and USB 2.0 and above all WLAN enable the printer to be shared in an office. The operating systems Linux, Mac OS X, Windows 10, Windows 7 and Windows 8 are supported with HP OfficeJet Pro 7740. Functions such as Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, HP ePrint, Mopria, and WiFi Direct are supported. Due to the Wi-Fi Direct mode, which creates an ad hoc network, neither an existing network nor an internet connection or a password is required.
