The HP OfficeJet Pro 8138e is a multifunction inkjet printer designed for home offices and small businesses, offering print, scan, copy, and fax capabilities in one compact device. This series features a 2.7-inch capacitive touchscreen color display for easy operation. Paper handling includes a 225-sheet input tray, a 60-sheet output tray, and a 35-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF), which is useful for scanning or copying multi-page documents. It delivers print speeds of up to 20 ppm in black and 10 ppm in color in Professional Mode, while General Office Mode can reach up to 29 ppm black and 25 ppm color. The printer also supports automatic duplex printing for efficient double-sided documents. It supports up to 1200 × 1200 rendered dpi for black prints and up to 4800 × 1200 optimized dpi for color output on supported photo paper. It uses HP Thermal Inkjet technology with four separate ink cartridges (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow), making cartridge replacement more economical. Borderless photo printing is also supported up to A4 size. The printer has a monthly duty cycle of up to 20,000 pages, with a recommended monthly volume of up to 800 pages. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi Direct, Apple AirPrint, Mopria certification, and support for the HP Smart app for mobile printing and scanning. The HP OfficeJet Pro 8138e is compatible with Windows 10/11, macOS, Linux, and Chrome OS. It also includes HP Wolf Essential Security features for network protection and secure printing.
